The right method for each surface, not just the quickest for us. At Upkeep External Property Care, we use low-pressure soft washing where high pressure would damage paint, joinery, or plaster, and step up to pressure washing where surfaces can handle it. Every job ends tidier than we found it.
House Washing (soft wash)
A low-pressure wash that lifts moss, mould, lichen and general grime from cladding, eaves, soffits and guttering without forcing water into joinery. Safe on painted weatherboard, plaster, brick, Linea and ColorSteel. Most homes look brand new by the end of the day.
Pre-Paint Building Wash
Before a painter turns up, the building needs to be properly washed. We do the washdown, remove mould and spores, and hand a clean surface to the painter - so your painting job actually lasts longer
Roof Treatments
Moss and lichen treatments for single-storey roofs - tile, Decramastic, long-run steel. A low-pressure chemical treatment kills growth at the root, then most of it washes off over the following weeks. No harsh blasting. No black streaks.
Deck & Fence Restoration
Brings colour and grain back to tired timber decks and fences without gouging the surface. A good mid- winter job while the garden is dormant.
Driveway & Concrete Cleaning
Driveways, paths, patios, pool surrounds, and block walls. Pressure-washed to lift years of moss and grime. Targeted pre-treatment for stubborn spots ensures an even finish, not a patchy one.
Moss & Mould Prevention
Treatment keeps growth from coming back for longer, stretching the gap between cleans. Ideal for shaded homes, rental portfolios, or anyone who’d rather maintain than repeat.
Not every property needs a wash. Sometimes it just needs a tidy - grass cleared, rubbish gone, the section looking cared for. We turn up with the gear, do the work and take the mess away.
Rubbish Removal & Section Tidy-Ups
Overgrown sections, post-storm debris, abandoned garden waste, and general site rubbish. We clear, sweep and dispose of it all so you don’t have to. A common fix after a tenant moves out or before a property goes on the market.
Rental Property Tidy-Ups
Between tenants, before an inspection, or after a bad exit, we’ll tidy the exterior to an inspectable standard and invoice directly. Most property managers use us as a standing fix -it call.
Pre-Sale Property Grooming
First impressions decide the offer. We’ll wash, tidy, and sharpen up the exterior so buyers see a home that’s been looked after - often for less than the difference it makes in the sale price.
Hedges & Edges Trimmed
Overgrown hedges and untidy edges make even a clean property look neglected. We trim hedges and shrubs to a tidy, even finish and cut sharp edges along paths, driveways and garden borders — no mowing, just the shaping and tidying that makes a real difference to the front-of-house look.
Upkeep External Property Care is owned and operated by Craig Storey. Craig is hands-on with every job, no subcontracting, no crews you have not met. Upkeep carries public liability insurance and treats every site the way we’d want our own treated: drop sheets down, plants rinsed, gear packed up tidily
